Theme: Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being.
International Day of the Girl Child 2023 is a day dedicated to recognizing and promoting the rights and well-being of girls worldwide. It emphasizes the importance of empowering girls through education, access to healthcare, and protection from violence and discrimination. This day also encourages girls to dream big, pursue their goals, and contribute to building a more equitable and just world.
We as an organization Teenagers Mind Restructuring Initiative TMRI were live at GSS Gwagwa for a sensitization of JSS 2 students, in commemoration of International Day Of The Girl Child.
The topic was on Priority Settings. We enlightened the students on the major priorities in life.
Below are the listed major priorities:
1. Relationship with the being behind your existence.
2. Priotise your future goals. (what you’d like to become in life). And identify things you need to do to accomplish it.
3. Education: made them understand that if they’re lucky enough to be supported to go to school, they should stay focused. This is because there are lots of out-of-school children on the streets.
4. Relationship with your family: they are there to help you flourish in life.
5. Your health: the feats you want to accomplish can only be possible with a sound mind and body.
We made the students understand in quote “To be sure you’re able to focus on your priorities in life, it’s important to ask yourself the “why” behind everything you do”.
Nation-building and life investment are a collective responsibility.
A Quote by Melinda Gates.
“If you invest in a girl or a woman, you’re investing in everyone else”.
