NATIONAL YOUTHS SKILLS DAY 2023!
The theme for 2023: Skilling teachers, trainers, and youths for a transformational future.
In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared the 15th of July as World Youth Skills Day, to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.
As an organization, one of our objectives is impacting teenagers and youths with free sustainable skills for self-reliance irrespective of life challenges as they journey through life.
We were invited to Voice of Nigeria to talk about the importance of equipping teenagers and youths with skills for a decent life. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0sGQDX3kVbwJP5ysNjex9LDYhbnWum5eJ6jqi15rdyKTrGf7NSJbR3nnPTErmcbTtl&id=100068241399114&mibextid=Nif5oz
It was an interactive section and a beneficiary from TMRI free skill acquisition was present to talk about her experience so far, how her acquired skills have benefited her as a teenager, and her advice to her fellow teenagers out there.
ENGAGING THEM ON DIVERSE SKILLS BASED ON THEIR LINE OF INTEREST.
Tailoring training: We’ve been able to train over 30 teenagers on free tailoring, and some of them are already earning an income with their tailoring-acquired skills.
This is because we only have facilities for tailoring for now, and our facilities accommodate only 10 participants. We hope to expand our facility to accommodate more beneficiaries for tailoring and other skills with the right partnership for maximum impact.
