SENSITIZATION OF SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN GSS GWAGWA

Teenagers Mind Restructuring Initiative (TMRI) in partnership with Cummins held its first project for the year 2023 on the 8th and 9th of February, 2023.

Our focus was on SS 2 students.

It was a 2-day program at GSS Gwagwa, FCT-Abuja.

TOPICS: 

Day 1: Self-Discovery (Who am I?)

Day 2: Addressing Inner Conflicts in Adolescents.

THE AREAS ADDRESSED BY THE 2-DAY PROGRAM:

1. Instilling within teenagers the imperative of assuming intentional responsibility for their forthcoming endeavors.

2. Altering the perceptions of adolescents who believe their youthfulness grants them boundless time.

3. Equipping teenagers with independent thinking capabilities, enabling them to make sound decisions while comprehending the consequences of their choices, both advantageous and detrimental.

4. Nurturing teenagers’ self-assurance to assertively champion their convictions and take action aligned with their beliefs.

5. Guiding teenagers in selecting companions who exert a positive influence, thus aiding their journey towards personal development.

6. Offering insights into optimizing leisure time by acquiring valuable skills instead of aimless wandering.

7. Recognizing the scarcity of suitable destinations and enriching engagements for many teenagers.

DELIVERY:

The students were in their 6 classes and the TMRI team facilitated the 6 classes at the same time, delivering the same teaching for 1 hour. 

We didn’t make use of the school hall; we chose to meet them in the classes so all the students can be carried along for maximum impact.

It was an impactful project.
